ABOUT EDUCATION 21

Welcome to Ed21!
Project-Based Learning is the vehicle through which we will deliver our students in to higher education and the professional world for the 21st century. Students participating in the PBL pods will share teachers and projects for at least 2 of their courses. Over the course of the school year, students will learn a foundational set of knowledge and skills to catapult them to success. Students will work together in interdisciplinary projects, making connections to the world around them and the commonalities among subjects.

Project-Based Learning’s time has come. The experience of thousands of teachers across all grade levels and subject areas, backed by research, confirms that PBL is an effective and enjoyable way to learn - and develop deeper learning competencies required for success in college, career, and civic life. LHS is giving these students the chance to apply their learning across courses and make connections to real life. This is an exciting time to be a part of the LHS community!

Sincerely,

Our Philosophy

All students can and should learn, and material must be made accessible to all in order for every student to succeed. We believe that all students can be engaged in what they are learning through PBL, and it will be with interdisciplinary projects that students will see the most benefit in their education.

Our History

Lincoln participated in a redesign effort during the 2012/2013 school year and we set our sights on Project-Based Learning as the best change we could make to our school structure. Over 80% of our staff has been trained in PBL and we have embedded it in our culture and curriculum over the past four years.
